Other Rodents as pets!

This page is for finding out information about other rodents as pets. In the past I have had Hamsters, Mice, Jerds as well as rats and all have contributed to my love of these small pets. However so far rats are by far my favorite, although everyone is different and if you want to find out about another rodent as a pet then at least here you have got a starting place. For the each rodent (listed below) I will try and include a links to a club websites and links to sites with care information.

Please note not all sites have been totally read by me so I can't guarantee the level of experience/knowledge they contain, so please only use them as a basis for your own reference.

                           Exotic Rodents !

Recently I have been reading up on Exotic rodents or slightly more unusual rodents you can keep as pets e.g.. Jerds, different types of Gerbils, mice etc. Although this information is very scarce on the internet  and often hard to find it makes and interesting read and certainly broadens your horizons. So if your are just curious or fancy having a new venture then check out the links below.

By the way I just thought I would mention, quite a few of these Exotic rodents don't like to be picked up as they are either very nervous or wild so many of them are just look at pets, however  some can be picked up e.g. If hand reared or particularly friendly. Finally just a note of caution if you fall in love with one of these exotic critters please do not rush into getting one allot have very specific needs and as with any pet you should always find out as much information as possible about them first.

Small and Furries- An informative site with details on how to keep many exotic rodents, from Zebra mice to Mara!. This site is also constantly being updated.

EnTER Fantasia Exotics- Is mainly text at the moment but looks very varied and informative. It is also constantly being updated so hopefully there will be some photos soon. This site covers a very wide range of exotic rodents, marsupials and more!

The Degu guide- As far as I can tell (and I know nothing about Degus) this site has all you need to learn about this little curiosity that keeps popping up in pet shops!

Pets Exotica - Has articles on Gerbils, short tailed opposums, degus, Sugar gliders and Spiny mice.

Hope you found this page useful please let me know what you think of the links or if you have any recomendations!
